Just a few days ago we celebrated the belated birthday of my husband who came over from afar to spend some time here in our home. We invited dear friends and transformed our living room into a welcoming space for more than ten guests with loads of delicious Brazilian food, good drinks, and flowers. I ordered two flower bouquets extra for the occasion.

We have four windows in Georgia’s nursery, including a dormer window in the ceiling that we can’t reach, so installing a motorized system for all windows so we could open and close them all simultaneously with the click of a button sounded brilliant! The time for winter festivities has begun! As we look forward to quality time with loved ones and moments to remember celebration, we also want to be surrounded by wonderful decor! Hope this season finds you well. Between the hustle and bustle of the holiday prep and lots of exciting projects to juggle here at Segreto HQ, I got to feeling nostalgic. Since John and I got married we have been hosting Thanksgiving in our home, and gathering with our (growing) family is something I look forward to each year. Looking back, my theme seems to always be centered around the pumpkin!

I love serving a seasonal menu like butternut squash or split pea soup just when the weather is getting a bit cooler. When I bought these Martha Stewart ones I looked high and low for just the right look with many brands available, now the best place to look is eBay. When did I become so vintage?!

This year’s color story is all about classic warmth with a touch of rustic details. I paired them with subtle harvest-themed tableware and woven chargers and completed the setup with orange fringed napkins. If you look closely, you’ll notice the napkin rings say “blessed” and “thankful,” isn’t that what this season is all about?

And of course, you can’t forget the florals — here I added a wreath in soft rose, yellows, blues, and ivory tones around my pumpkin bowl centerpiece.

Last year I used the soup tureen to house the florals. This year with more of a Fall toned theme, I surrounded the tureen with silk florals and berries. This did allow me to set my Thanksgiving table way in advance! Now the only thing left is the delicious meal that will be shared by our loved ones.

This is a great shot of how Segreto Chalks gives a plaster feel to the plastic pumpkins and leaves, It's hard to see the detail but she also painted her brown bamboo folding chairs in Segreto Chalks as well.

Big tip, sign up for Bodrum’s emails, they have a sample sale twice a year and things are pennies on the dollar. They go fast though, this year all were sold out in less than 24 hours!!
